Knock off Garden Table

I often find myself searching online looking at furniture and decor on sites that I consider full of unique items. I recently came across the Anthropologie Partridge Garden Table and fell in love. The creative use of old mismatched legs was awesome. Then I saw the price; a mere $ 148.00. As cool as it is, spending that much for a plant stand is way more than I could ever justify. I knew I could make it cheaper and am excited to show you how to make your own!

Materials

3 different banister Spindles or table legs
10″ clock face round
Wood Glue
Nail Gun
Wood Filler
Painters Tape
Three different colors of Paint
Sliding T-Bevel Square
Miter Saw
Spray Paint (Rust-Oleum Rustic Mist)
Spray Paint (High Gloss Sealer)

Tybee Whitecaps Tour

First let me say, I truly saved the best for last on this Tybee Mermaid Cottage house tour. Whitecaps is one of the old Officer’s homes and it is dripping with details. From ornate coffered ceilings to gorgeous furniture and antiques. We are excited to share this Tybee Whitecaps Tour.

And with a front porch that looks out over the sea, you can not find a more relaxing place to sit and sip coffee.

When you walk up to this beautiful house, it’s impossible to overlook the gorgeous original brick sidewalk leading to the front entrance.

Old Reynolds Block bricks pave the path. Each brick is glazed and some are stamped. Beautiful colors make up the varied color palette. A quick internet search led me to the origin of Reynolds Block. They were made by the Tennessee Paving Brick Company of Robbins, Tennessee.

Whitecaps was built circa 1897 for the officers during the Spanish-American war.

It is situated on the Northern end of Tybee Island in the old Ft. Screven community.

The Denali Dream Drive tour of the 2014 HGTV Dream Home

Can I tell you about my dream home? Well, it would be in a gorgeous natural location with an amazing view out the back door:

And maybe a beautiful body of water nearby to witness jaw dropping sunsets.

And the house would be wrapped in windows…

…so that every room brought the outside in.

And there would be a long granite covered island that could seat the entire US ski and snowboard team!

damp paper towel
brown kraft paper
mod podge
paint brush
red & white striped packing tape

small craft bells
3/8″ grosgrain ribbon
fray chek

Instructions:

Step 1: Give the exterior cover (front and back) a quick sanding to rough up the ‘shiny’ surface – this will help the kraft paper adhere better. Read more

Pretty Handy Girl’s Christmas Home Tour 2013

Welcome, welcome! I see you made it here from Songbird’s beautiful home. If you are coming here first, be sure to check out Marianne’s home:

I can not tell you how excited I am to have you in for the tour. Last Christmas we were living in a demolition zone. So, it feels wonderful to have our kitchen complete and be able to focus on decorating for the holidays.

I’m also enjoying low fuss decorating. Like this fake wreath that looks fabulous when you tuck some live greenery inside (thanks for the idea Colleen.)
