The DIY Talent Parade Highlights
I’m still on a high after the fabulous DIY Talent Parade. Seriously, I think the Rose Parade needs to watch out because y’all have some fabulous talent! There were so many amazing projects, it was hard to pick just a few of my favorites.
To start off the highlights, I present to you this colorful living room makeover by Yanet from 3 Sun Kissed Boys. I love how she nailed the color palette when she decided the word for the room should be cheery:
Plum Doodles wowed us with this standard vanity makeover by painting the toe kick black and adding legs and a skirt. Check out here step by step tutorial:
Imperfectly Polished shares a tutorial for making a custom built-in storage bench. I am really in love with this idea and might need to customize the design for the dormer windows in our bonus room:
Flower Hill Design Co. took a shabby little table and transformed it into this glamous coffee table! I think the icing on this cake is that she had marble custom cut for the top. AND, she added the nailhead trim! Here is the before and after:
Ashley blew me away with this one-of-a-kind typesetter drawer coffee table. This is something that I’m sure that Restoration Hardware will knockoff and sell for $850 next month! I am trying to convince her that she made it for me since she put my name inside ;-):
Wanessa Carolina shared a tutorial to make these really fun and modern paper sphere decorations. You’d never guess that she used craft paper and gift wrap:
Virginia from Live Love DIY gave her kitchen a complete overhaul and even painted the insides of her cabinet doors with chalkboard paint. I love how crisp and clean it looks. Complete with a $15 Craig’s List chandelier:
Linda from Home is Where My Heart Is gave us another amazing kitchen renovation, by covering her tile backsplash with beadboard and trimming it out. Then she painted everything a bright white and accessorized with apple greens. I’m drooling over this:
My dear friend (who I haven’t met in real life yet) Rita blogs over at Design Megillah. And she is always amazing me with her transformations! Check out her thrift store lamp makeover! Ombré chic:
Those crazy talented Seattle gals over at Hammer Like a Girl designed and installed this really cool art display using bolts and wire. I’m loving the funky eclectic look of it:
I was wowed by this china cabinet that Carrie from Hooked on Decorating saved. She found it on Kijiji for….are you ready for the price?….FREE! But, what really has my heart pitter pattering is all the details she added to it. From the crown shaped handles to the scrapbook lined drawer:
And finally, for all you other handy gals out there, Jaime from That’s My Letter designed and shared a tutorial to make a tool belt apron. She designed them in conjunction with Ana White because honestly — tool belts are not very cute, but these are:
A huge thank you to my DIY friends who helped kick off the parade:
Is it too late to say thank you for the feature?! Nah! I’m flattered to be included in your highlights. The living room about to change once more. But that’s no surprise, right? 🙂
You are so welcome! Thanks for joining the parade. I can’t wait to see what you do next ;-).
I’m honored to be featured on your blog! Thanks so much. It’s nice to know that people read my posts. I’m currently making a bird bath out of Quikrete, and I should have that blog entry (with tutorial) up in a few days, once the cement cures.
Thanks so much for the mention!
Brittany~Thanks so much for the feature of my kitchen desk. I’m honored that you like it. ~Linda
Brittany thank you for adding the Ana White work apron to the feature list – I’m all badged up and so excited to be included in the round up. Love all those beautifully creative ideas.
Wow, I feel so honored to have my bathroom cabinet makeover featured, Brittany- thanks so much for your inspiration and encouragement! 🙂
Thanks so much for featuring my vintage book cabinet Brittany! I was so surprised and honored to be featured amongst so many incredible projects!
