3 DIY Books for Holiday Gifts
I’m thrilled to share with you a selection of 3 DIY books this holiday season. If you are looking for ideas for someone on your gift list who: has children who love to create; loves rustic metal decor; or wants some simple ideas to love the home they are living in…I have the book for you!
Let’s start with C.R.A.F.T – Creating REALLY Awesome Free Things (affiliate link). This book by Jamie Dorobek was not a book I had originally planned on reviewing. But, when I opened the envelope and set the book on the counter it was instantly whisked away from me. My boys took the book and read it from front to back!
Within 30 minutes, my oldest (a middle schooler) had already cut up a cereal box and was working on his own puzzle.
The next day, my 3rd grader had a playdate at our house. He and his friend asked for the materials to make their own Emoji masks.
They were entertained for a while as they each worked on their own emoji faces.
This is definitely a popular book in our house and my children love to create using items in our recycling bin. There are also stylish ideas like Tie-Dye Shoelaces using Sharpie markers.
C.R.A.F.T. is now on my list of perfect gift ideas for all my nieces and nephews!
Next on my short list of awesome DIY books is DIY Rustic Modern Metal Crafts – 35 Creative Upcycling Ideas for Galvanized Metal by Laura Putnam (affiliate link).
This book is beautifully written and answers all your questions about working with galvanized metal. Laura even covers how to age new sheet metal to add that beautiful frosted patina.
She takes many easily obtainable galvanized metal items and transforms them into fun and stylish home decor.
Each project has simple step-by-step instructions that are easy to follow.
After reading this book, I decided my Christmas mantel needed a little galvanized metal style. I’ll be revealing the project I created soon. In the meantime, I leave you with this gorgeous photo of a unique bar cart with galvanized metal back. Dreamy, right? Buy the book DIY Rustic Modern Metal Crafts – 35 Creative Upcycling Ideas for Galvanized Metal to learn how to make your own.
Finally, Melissa Michaels is back with another beautiful book to help you love your home again. The Inspired Room – Simple Ideas to Love the Home You Have is a book that will not only look beautiful in your home, but will inspire you to make simple changes that will make your whole home beautiful.
