Holiday Home Tour – The Living Room
It’s the most wonderful time of year when I can invite you into my home. The house is picked up (for the moment) and I’ve hung the stockings with care. But, most of all, I enjoy having you over for a cup of hot cocoa and good conversation. If you are just coming over from Gloribell’s blog, I Don’t Know How She Does It, welcome! If you are stopping in here first, follow to the end of this post to see all the other bloggers participating in the tour. (You won’t want to miss a single one!)
Ready for the tour? Handy Dog and I are so happy to have you here with us.
Grab your drink and let’s head to the living room.
You may have seen a sneak peek of our living room earlier this week when I shared how to make these fun rustic metal magnetic window frames.
Adding width to a starburst mirror was as easy as hot gluing straws to the back. I added some fake snow spray to the back of a reclaimed window. If we don’t have real snow this year, at least we can enjoy the fake stuff.
The mantel is filled with rustic metal, including the DIY Galvanized Metal Star Garland.
The magnetic metal windows are a fun way to display holiday cards and photos.
Handsome Guy and I have a disagreement this year. He wants to bring a Christmas tree into the living room. I want to skip it or find somewhere else to put it because the room is small and I like to have enough seating for our guests.
He wants to move this beautiful yellow La-Z-Boy wingback out of the room for now. I may just have to chain myself to the chair because I want it to stay (even if it is temporary.)
I told him we could use this little tree instead this year. But, the boys are all protesting.
Since the vote is currently 3:1, I think I’m out numbered.
Which means our living room might not look like this after this weekend.
At least we can leave our La-Z-Boy recliner in the living room (best nap chair in the house!)
Speaking of naps, looks like we wore Handy Dog out.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Hope you have yourself a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Head on over to Stacy’s house at Not Just a Housewife next.

Your living room looks great! We like our tree when we see it the most. I even have been moving my computer into the living room during the day so I can see the tree lights and the fire!
Oh my goodness gracious, this is so lovely Brittany! I love how everything all together looks! So pretty & festive. I understand what you mean about Christmas tree placement. Mine is in my dining room but no one doth protest here, just the best place for it.
The first words that come to mind when I see your space is “warm & cozy”. I could curl up and listen to Christmas music all day there! I love it 🙂
Your living room is soooo super cozy.
Love the warm feeling your mantel conveys!!
Happy Holidays to you & your family!!
(and Handy Dog too)
So cozy, I love it- especially the mantle with those stars!!
