Day 9 – Easy Tricks to Remove Wall Scuffs
Do you have a ghost in your house? I do! Want to know how I know? Because we have scuffs that magically appear on the walls. It doesn’t bother me because I know a few easy tricks for removing wall scuffs.
Day 10: Easy Tricks for Removing Wall Scuffs
My number one tool in my arsenal against wall scuffs is the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. This guy is tough on scuffs! Before you start using that new eraser, cut it into fourths. That way you only dirty one small section at a time.
Rinse the eraser under water and ring out as much water as you can.
Locate your wall scuffs:
Gently rub the wall with the Magic Eraser until the scuffs disappear.
Instantly gone, invisible and no more ghost evidence.
Recently I accidentally marked my wall with a Sharpie marker.
The Magic Eraser worked a little too well in removing the mark. I accidentally rubbed down to the old paint color.
For true paint touch ups, I use the Shur-Line touch up painter. I poured this paint in the tube a year ago. Then stored it in the garage.
I snapped a new roller into the top. After a year, the paint clogged at the release hole. But, I was able to poke a pin though to start the paint again.
Then I rolled over the “oops” until it had good paint coverage.
And the mark/scuff is gone.
Do you have any tips or tricks for removing wall scuffs? I’m anxious to hear your tips.

Will this work with flat paint or will it just rub the paint off?
Flat paint is tough to clean. Try a small spot first in an area behind a door or in a corner.
Just genius! I need to head out and pick some of these up to clean up after the ghosts that are also in my house!
Glad I’m not the only one with paranormal activity in our home 😉
I too love Mr Clean Erasers but never thought to cut them into fourths . . . great idea!
Oh, I’m totally trying this. We moved in last July and the walls are already all marked up.
Good to know! I need to give that a try because we have a ton of scuffs on our wall going up the stairs.
I love my Mr. Clean Eraser!!! They do work really well, though I’ve never had a problem with the paint coming off.
Holly, I know it was because there was only one coat of paint on that area and the permanent marker was being stubborn ;-(
Thanks for this, I forgot all about those Mr. Clean Eraser’s. I think I might have one around.
Colleen, I use them for almost everything! Just don’t rub them on your skin as they do have chemicals in it.
I can comment! I too love the Mr. Clean Eraser – I have a lot of walls and 4 sets of paw pads that get everywhere! Use it with care on gloss or semi-gloss finish, it can abrade that shine. For broader fingerprints or paw dirt, I use a little Murphy’s Soap in warm water with a normal spounge, then wipe dry!
Oooo, great tip Gabrielle! Thanks.
