How to Hang a Frameless Oval Mirror
One of the things I love about my client’s home is her spacious master bathroom. Our small bathroom pales in comparison to this size. And yet, I’ve seen much larger master bathrooms. But frankly, who wants to clean all that?
Luckily the homeowner had already put in new tile and the vanity before I began work. The vanity top was installed by the homeowner a week later than this picture. The two things that I recommended were to ditch the light fixture (learn how to swap out ugly Hollywood style light fixtures) and the builder grade mirror.
In its place I installed two frameless wall-mounted oval mirrors. These mirrors were the perfect amount of elegance needed in this master bathroom. And, they were a cinch to install! Want to learn How to Hang a Frameless Oval Mirror? Let’s get to it.
Materials:
- Moen Glenshire Oval Mirror
- Drill & drill bit (see mirror hanging instructions for size.)
- Level
- Painter’s tape
Instructions:
Remove the mounting template from the mirror box. Determine the height of your mirror and where you want to mount the mirror. Tape the template on the wall. Level the template.
Drill holes into the template where noted.
Remove the paper template. Fold wall anchor and press into the pre-drilled holes.
Use the provided tool to press into the anchors and pop the wings open behind the wall.
Secure the mounting brackets to the wall with the provided screws.
Lay your mirror upside down on a soft surface. Attach the arms with the provided nuts.
Lift your mirror and position the arms over the mounting brackets.
Secure and tighten the hex set screw under the arms with the provided hex wrench.
Stand back and take an obligatory selfie in the beautiful new mirror you hung.
This bathroom is officially done and ready to sell!
Do you have a builder grade mirror that needs to be replaced? This is a cost effective solution with a luxurious look. You can also frame your builder grade mirror using a pre-ordered frame like this.
Where can I but these anchors? I already have an oval mirror.
The arms came with the mirrors. The wall anchors can be purchased in the hardware section of your home improvement store.
It’s incredible what a change of lighting and some new mirrors can do to a bathroom! It took it from standard to incredible and who doesn’t want to look their best and feel their best and you can’t do that with a low quality mirror and bad lighting! Great job and thanks for sharing 🙂
What a difference this makes Brittany! I don’t have any to replace in my home but I might in a rental we have…keeping this one in the back of my mind. Thanks for this!
