I noticed that you don’t follow addicted2decorating.com. I follow a lot of the blogs you do, but love to follow Kristi as well. Have you ever visited her blog? Anyway I love to follow you also.. Your a very talented “girl”. I just found my love of working and building with wood. Sure wish I’d of had internet 30 years ago. Lol Thanks to all the ladies in DIY land. You all brought me out of a very very depressed stage in my life. Bet you never thought of yourself helping a person in this way. Building things just helps me so much. Thanks
I have any existing wood carved canopy bed with no attached finials. What type of hardware can be used to attach curtains to the frame
I like DIY . I am really fascinated for some of your ideas I found in Pinterest. The button pendant light is my next project. Thank you and congratulations for sharing your artistic ability.
Thanks Patricia!
Great list!
Thanks for the list. i am reading Sawdust Girl and Vintage Revivals and i just added you to my reading list. Keep up the good work!!
Any tips for painting an exterior door on the hinges? Inside and out? My main issue is pet hair while I am doing this. It is not possible for this door to be removed from the hinges and painted. Thanks! I can keep them outside or in the garage temporarily..but there is still a lot of pet hair floating around.
Ginger, I’m actually painting my front doors now and am not taking them off the hinges. Just be sure to use two coats (at least) and go back to check for drips (especially in the interior panel corners.) Have fun!
I live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath mobile home. My husband and I share the master bedroom, my step-s0n has a bedroom and my 17 year old has a bedroom. The catch is my 17 year old is having a baby in July and we need to incorporate a nursey in her room. Any ideas would be wonderful?????
April, are you trying to figure out space issues? In other words how to get a crib and changing table into your 17 yr. old’s room? Or are you asking about trying to partition the room for noise issues?
I have a question about redoing an old Victorian style nightstand that has a lot of detailing that I’d like to paint a different color than the rest of the table. Do you have any tips when it comes to the process of painting the detailing? I can send you a picture if you’d like? 🙂
Catalina, sure! Feel free to send me a picture and more details about what colors, etc. you want to paint it. My email is: PrettyHandyGirl (at) gmail . com
Thanks for this great list! I’ve been looking for some new inspirations.
I live in Southern Louisiana and have found a vintage wood and metal outdoor chair set. I would love to distress in a blue color. Can I send a pic and get some ideas?
Melanie,
Sure! Email it to me: PrettyHandyGirl (at) gmail.com
I have question for you, I recently painted glossy paint on table top. I do not like the outcome, can I distress the top of table? and how to go about it. Thank You Sue
Sue, I’m just now seeing your comment. If I didn’t reply before, feel free to email me.
“Scraping popcorn ceilings” was the best I have read…esp mentioning the asbestos as my house was built in 1978. Home Depot nor Lowe’s have the asbestos test kit. Do you know how I can get this done. Should there be a local company that I could take a sample to? I want to get this done soon.
Shirley, there is probably a lab near you, you’ll probably need to google asbestos test and your city and state. I wish I had more information for you.
Thanks, i was looking for some DIY blogs
you helped a lot
