In October 2014, I wrote this series to introduce you to tips and fixes you can do to protect your home, save money and save time. Follow along to learn a new tip each day. There’s no time like the present to learn something new.
Thanks for great post!
Just found your site by googling “window casing for dummies”, and let me tell you I LOVE your site and can’t wait to start trying to case my windows. I had all my windows replaced and of course the price did not include finishing up the interior of tge windows and when I asked for price they wanted to charge me lots more than what I paid them to replace them. So here you have me taking notes and I think I will give it a try and you might be getting some before and after pictures. Thank you for the inspiration!!!!

I am a South African citizen and we had our house repainted by a contractor in 2013 and it cost me a fortune. We bought the best paint recommended and my house looked good for a year. Then we saw marks on the roof and a few weeks later we saw that the paint on the house started cracking. Needless to say the contractor was nowhere to be found. The paint company informed as after testing the paint that almost have of the 25 litre drum was replaced with water.
We now have to redo the whole house but cannot afford it again. I need some serious tips on how to make my house beautiful again, get rid of the flaking paint – even if it takes me a year.
Ina, oh no, that sounds horrible. You will probably need to remove any paint that is chipping or peeling (if there is any) then prime it well and paint again.
