Create an Embellished HERSHEY’S KISSES Carrying Case

Do you know how much I love chocolate?
I love chocolate so much that I joke that there needs to be chocolate coursing through my system at all times. And there’s a reason that I’m in love with chocolate: It’s in my heritage!
Yup, I am a descendant of one of the original Milton Hershey boys. Milton Hershey, the founder of The Hershey Company, also started the Milton Hershey School where he gave a home and education to orphaned children. My great grandfather was one of the original students (pictured above.)
The ties I have to Chocolatetown, USA continue with my grandmother who lived in Hershey, PA until the day she died. And that meant that she gave birth to my father in…you guessed it…Hershey, PA. So, it’s completely understandable that I have a real love affair with that yummy dark sweet candy.
This explains why I like to have a little chocolate on hand at all times. One of my favorite chocolates to share with friends is HERSHEY’S® KISSES® Brand Chocolates. They are a perfectly portable and portioned treats that fit into my crazy DIY lifestyle. I created a custom carrying case that fits easily inside my purse, so I can bring a delicious bite of chocolate with me when I am on-the-go. The case fits five HERSHEY’S KISSES Brand Chocolates, which are about 20-25 calories per piece (not bad for a little treat as part of a balanced lifestyle.)

Here’s my simple tutorial for embellishing your own HERSHEY’S KISSES carrying case.
Materials:
- Small metal or plastic case (such as a lipstick case)
- Precut adhesive vinyl
- Washi tape
- Floral adhesive gems
- Scissors
- X-acto knife
- Strong craft glue like E-6000
- Hole punches
Instructions:
Add vinyl adhesives or washi tape to your lipstick case. Position small adhesives with the tip of an X-acto knife for better control. Wrap washi tape edges over and tuck inside for a more secure hold.
Add floral gem embellishments to add whimsy, glam and fun! (If you worry about them getting knocked off, you can use the strong craft glue to secure them.)
Slip some HERSHEY’S KISSES Brand Chocolates inside and carry them with you EVERYWHERE!
And now you never have to be caught without a treat again.
That would be a travesty, wouldn’t it?
You can watch my quick video tutorial for creating all those beauties!

It’s your turn to think creatively! I want to see your ideas for your own personalized carrying case. It must be small enough to carry in your bag and able to hold at least four or five HERSHEY’S KISSES Brand Chocolates.
Leave me a comment with a link to your idea. It can be a Pinterest pin, a website URL, an Instagram photo, or if you have a creative idea in your head you can describe it to me.
How would you decorate your carrying case?

Hershey School is a wonderful family legacy to have
Oh what a sweet treat to win after Tax Day! I’d love to add some Hershey dark chocolate (my absolute favorite btw) to my stash I keep at work for those “dark” moments of the day lol! I’m a repurpose girl myself and I’ve got an old bandaid tin that would be perfect to decorate and stash some kisses. I couldn’t find an exact one but Tammy has a cute idea on her blog Fun Paper Candy for using them as gift containers. http://www.funpapercandy.com/2009_09_01_archive.html?m=1
OH,Oh,Oh,Oh,Oh (with arm in the air like Arnold Horshack from Welcome Back, Kotter) Pick me, pick me!
I LOVE this idea and I am absolutly giddy over tiny little containers, blingy things, & dark chocolate!!!
It’s the little things in life…….& this is the exact thing that makes this mommy H-A-P-P-Y 🙂
If I had this adorable little case I would add some super cute bling in the same spirit that you did. I have lots of jewels that I hoard from Michaels when they have that “magic” yellow clearance sticker on them that I CANNOT pass up. Shhh, don’t tell my husband 😉 In fact, I am thinking right now of some sweet rhinestone hearts that would fit beautifully on there.
Owning an adorable case like that would be a MAJOR UPGRADE from my current cloudy, old, “sammich” baggie full of cinnamon disk candy that is in my purse right now.
*Fingers crossed*
Super cute case — I love all things metal. But sadly, I would never get to use it for Hershey kisses. Kisses never make it to a carry case — right into the tummy for me! 😉
Your sweet little cases certainly are much more elegant that the zipper baggy I usually throw my treats into! LOL! My hubby is also a Hershey descendant – Milton’s Great Grandfather Christian Hershey – that’s way back in the family tree! Perhaps you are long lost cousins. I hear the Hershey family reunion is incredible!
As far as an idea for a sweet little Hershey Kiss Carrier (which is a fabulous idea because then the children would not see them and deplete my stash as quickly!) what about a clean toothbrush holder? I have several and just discovered that 8 Kisses fit in my cylindrical toothbrush holder, which could be decorated with stickers or washi tape – or left plain to disguise the treat inside!
Heather, that’s so cool that you are a Hershey descendant! My great grandfather wasn’t related to Milton Hershey, he was an orphan who was taught at the Milton Hershey school. But, cool none-the-less that we both have ties to Hershey.
I for one would opt to skip the project, however it is darling and fabulous. Understand, there are those of us who are more desperate and obsessive when it comes to chocolate. Those of us that fit into this criteria will either; a) finish the bag of kisses prior to finishing the project or b) forego said project altogether and throw the entire bag into a giant purse in preparation for whatever comes our way. Rough day? Have a Kiss. Easy times? Have a Kiss. Best day ever? Seal it with a kiss. It is evident that there are very VERY FEW THINGS that cannot be resolved…or at least made a little sweeter…with a Kiss. My question; Who was the brilliant person at Hershey’s who named this tiny treat?
