Create an Embellished HERSHEY’S KISSES Carrying Case

Do you know how much I love chocolate?
I love chocolate so much that I joke that there needs to be chocolate coursing through my system at all times. And there’s a reason that I’m in love with chocolate: It’s in my heritage!
Yup, I am a descendant of one of the original Milton Hershey boys. Milton Hershey, the founder of The Hershey Company, also started the Milton Hershey School where he gave a home and education to orphaned children. My great grandfather was one of the original students (pictured above.)
The ties I have to Chocolatetown, USA continue with my grandmother who lived in Hershey, PA until the day she died. And that meant that she gave birth to my father in…you guessed it…Hershey, PA. So, it’s completely understandable that I have a real love affair with that yummy dark sweet candy.
This explains why I like to have a little chocolate on hand at all times. One of my favorite chocolates to share with friends is HERSHEY’S® KISSES® Brand Chocolates. They are a perfectly portable and portioned treats that fit into my crazy DIY lifestyle. I created a custom carrying case that fits easily inside my purse, so I can bring a delicious bite of chocolate with me when I am on-the-go. The case fits five HERSHEY’S KISSES Brand Chocolates, which are about 20-25 calories per piece (not bad for a little treat as part of a balanced lifestyle.)

Here’s my simple tutorial for embellishing your own HERSHEY’S KISSES carrying case.
Materials:
- Small metal or plastic case (such as a lipstick case)
- Precut adhesive vinyl
- Washi tape
- Floral adhesive gems
- Scissors
- X-acto knife
- Strong craft glue like E-6000
- Hole punches
Instructions:
Add vinyl adhesives or washi tape to your lipstick case. Position small adhesives with the tip of an X-acto knife for better control. Wrap washi tape edges over and tuck inside for a more secure hold.
Add floral gem embellishments to add whimsy, glam and fun! (If you worry about them getting knocked off, you can use the strong craft glue to secure them.)
Slip some HERSHEY’S KISSES Brand Chocolates inside and carry them with you EVERYWHERE!
And now you never have to be caught without a treat again.
That would be a travesty, wouldn’t it?
You can watch my quick video tutorial for creating all those beauties!

Which are your favorites? I’m in love with these washi tape cases:

It’s your turn to think creatively! I want to see your ideas for your own personalized carrying case. It must be small enough to carry in your bag and able to hold at least four or five HERSHEY’S KISSES Brand Chocolates.
Leave me a comment with a link to your idea. It can be a Pinterest pin, a website URL, an Instagram photo, or if you have a creative idea in your head you can describe it to me.
How would you decorate your carrying case?

probably use my glasses case…it will hold more…lol
I’m thinking a small book, maybe about the size of a Gideon’s Bible. You could carve out a secret compartment, but instead of hiding a flask it would be for the Hershey’s Kisses!
I love Hershey’s kisses. They just melt in your mouth. I need to carry more than a few so I use a travel container for your toothbrush. It fits in my purse ( of course, I carry a large purse). Thanks for the giveaway.

I think I would go with stealth. There is a vitamin supplement called Airborne that is sold in plastic tubes. I would stash my Hershey’s Kisses inside one of these tubes so no one would know that I was packing chocolate and be tempted to take it! You can see a picture here – http://www.foxnews.com/images/418301/1_61_320_081508_airborne.jpg
Love your case! I would use one of the fake hairspray can and pack them in!
I think one of those daily pill cases decorated for “emergency chocolate” would be really cute.
How incredible CUTE!! I have visited Hersey, PA since I was a child and was able to show my son (now 20) how magical and sweet it can be. My father, at 82, attends the BIG Car show/sale each year in Hersey. He has been going for the last 35 yrs.
I have a plastic lipstick case, that I “bling’d” with rhinestones. Pink and clear all the way!!
Thanks,
Sherri
This is my idea for a case. http://pinterest.com/pin/219128338089400411/
It involves one of those Tampon Carrying Cases. They are already pretty but you could add embelishments too.
a reusable snack bag in the sock monkey fabric i purchased thursday! … working on purses now to give away … will be working on the snack bags tomorrow (if my boys cooperate ~ 2 under 2!). i am not a huge chocolate fan (gasp) but my husband & oldest boy are!
Love this! My husband is a graduate of the Milton Hershey School….as is my brother-in-law….They attended from 3rd grade & 2nd grade, respectfully…through graduation…and still attend homecoming every year. I’ve never seen such school spirit in my life.
WHOOOOO are you related to? I live in Hershey and attend homecoming as well (not every year though). The Milts have a special bond that cannot be broken.
I would put mine in a HelloKitty case that I bought for Easter. I still have some Sucrets tins from back in the day, so I can decorate one of those. ALSO, I have lots of prescription bottles. What a better use for them than Hershey kisses? What a perfect way to stop a migraine! When my mother had Alzheimers that was her favorite treat. We used to bribe her with Hershey’s kisses. She would sometimes find the hiding place so there would always be the little paper string in her sheets! Ann
I love chocolate like every other woman on the planet, except my daughter, who oddly, especially being born by me, has no sweet tooth! Love the new background, too, A little change-up is nice, especially in Spring. I have a plastic container of Mentos chewing gum that I’d much rather have filled with Hershey kisses. It holds 15 mentos so I’m sure it would hold 5 wonderful chocolate kisses with no problem. Definitely have to dress it up a bit 🙂

So cute, Brittany! I’m thinking a water bottle would be just about the right size for a stash of Hershey’s kisses. Cover it with pretty embellishments and no one will know you have sweet goodness hiding in there. I’d have to upgrade the size of my purse, but hey, sacrifices must be made. 🙂
I’m talking about the kind you refill with the wide-mouth opening, not the already filled water bottles, cause those would have too small an opening. Ack! I should have sent a picture, I’m not explaining myself well, am i?!
Such a cute idea:) I’m going to make one and use it for lip balm!
I don’t have any ideas for you, but I have to tell you how cute your little case it. I, too, am a chocolate lover, esp Hersheys. (I never have seen the appeal of Godiva or other brands.) I think you should send one of your cases to Hersheys. Then maybe they’ll send you a “case” – get it? – of kisses.
Patricia, yes, a case containing a year’s supply of KISSES sounds pretty good to me ;-D. Thanks for your sweet comment.
